9/11/20 Community Update

Good evening La Tierra Community!

I would like to start off by telling you how much we appreciate you and all of your support and dedication during this challenging time.  This is not how any of us would choose for the school year to be and we know how demanding it is for you and your children.  We are doing our best every day to make it as smooth as possible and continue to make changes when things need to be modified or refined.  Thank you for all of your feedback and positive solutions for any difficulties you or your students are having.  We can get through this together!
Rhette and I continue to monitor the daily COVID numbers from the Yavapai County Health Services as well as the weekly benchmarks from the ADHS.  The ADHS benchmark numbers from 9/10/2020 show Yavapai County remains in the green or minimal range for 2 out of 3 benchmarks however we are still in the yellow or moderate range for 1. The percent positivity is 3.1% which is minimal or green.  The percent of hospitalizations for COVID illnesses is at 2.8% which is also minimal or green.  There are still 28 cases per 100,000 people which falls in the moderate range.  This number needs to hit 10 or less to be in the green or minimal range.  Once Yavapai County has all 3 benchmarks in the minimal category they will need to remain there for 2 weeks for us to return to full in person instruction.
We will continue to track the information by YCHS and ADHS closely and will continue to send weekly updates with information regarding the benchmarks and when we will be able to safely reopen.  As always, please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.
We hope you and your family are well.  Have a beautiful weekend!
Julie & Rhette
