9/4/20 Community Update

Hello wonderful La Tierra Community,
We are writing today to update you on the Health Benchmarks released by the Arizona Department of Health and Safety on Thursday 9/3.  Two of the benchmarks, Percent Positivity and COVID-like Illness fell in the MINIMAL Category with 3.3% and 3% respectively.  The third benchmark remains in the MODERATE Category at 31 cases per 100,000 individuals. Just a reminder per ADHS Guidelines, all three benchmarks need to be in the MINIMAL Category for two consecutive weeks for LTCS to return to in-person learning. We are very hopeful that in-person learning will resume soon as these numbers continue to decline every week.  We will be in constant communication with details pertaining to reopening campus including the start date (when benchmarks are met) and protocols and procedures for returning to school. Please reach out with any questions you have regarding benchmarks and reopening.
We hope that distance learning is going well and welcome any feedback you have to make this experience better for your child and family. Also a reminder that our School Counselor, Ms. Cristal, is available every Wednesday to chat with kiddos that might be struggling with any number of difficult things right now. Please let your classroom teacher know if this is something you’re interested in.
We wish you all a safe, healthy and fun holiday weekend and look forward to seeing all your smiling faces (virtually) on Tuesday!
Best,
Rhette & Julie
